Biography
Hi, my name is Ming Jiang. I'm from Jingdezhen City of China, which is known as China Town due to its famous porcelain products. Currently I'm pursuing my B.S. degree in the department of Electronic Engineering of Tsinghua University.
Inspite of the busy life and difficult courses in the university, I have earned more than 200 credits while still maintaining a very high academic record. So far, I have almost completed two different majors in Dept. EE — Electronic Information Engineering and Microelectronics and Nanoelectronics. My GPAs in these two majors both rank in the first place, and my overall GPA is also the highest among more than 300 students in our department. Furthermore, I have taken or audited quite a few economic core major courses and studied many CS-related knowledge by myself.
Since the sophomore year, I have dedicated much of my extracurricular time into scientific research. In Mar. 2006, I entered Complex Engineered Systems Lab in the name of SRT project, and took part in the development of Flexible Low Cost Wireless Sensor Networks (FLOWS). In the summer of the same year, I attended Beijing Olympic National Stadium Project in which we were responsible for constructing a security monitoring wireless sensor network. By the end of Jan. 2007, I completed another project in this lab concerning the development of low power temperature measurement system. In Jul. 2007, I joined in the IC and System Design Research Division and helped with the development of RISC architectural simulator. Now I am a member of Communication Network Laboratory, working on Multi-AP RRM over HD-WLANs as my undergraduate thesis topic. Besides the research work in these labs, I went to Google Inc. as a software engineering intern in the summer of 2007, where I mainly dealt with the development of web applications.
Out of my enthusiasm for challenges and practice, I have enrolled in many contests and activities during the undergraduate period. I won the excellence awards for Microsoft ImagineCup 2007 Embedded Development Competition and Chinese Mathematics Modeling Contest in 2006. I attended the worldwide iGEM 2007 Competition and Tsinghua ChallengeCup 2007 Entrepreneurship Competition. In addition, as the vice president of MNESAST and the former vice president of EESAST, I have been in charged of the organization of many competitions as well as various technical training lectures.
I like playing table tennis in my spare time. Concentration, skills and foresight are crucial elements to this kind of sports. Similarly, with my resolute commitment and professional ability, I believe that I can attain my career goals to be a top researcher.
